Are You Losing Height? One of the most common signs that you need chiropractic care is loss of height. Although with age people often lose height - that doesn't have to be. Most height loss is due to spinal disc thinning and abnormal curves due to years of poor spinal health and bad posture. Chiropractic been able to halt height loss and even return some lost height to the spine. If you aren't as tall as you used to be, or are concerned with loss of height, come in for a spinal checkup. One of the findings from the 84-day Skylab mission was that the astronauts grew taller, as much as 1-3/4", due to the spinal disc thickness increasing in a weightless (zero gravity) environment.
Humor, A New Medical Device? One day an old lady's dog passed out on her floor. She was used to her dog playing dead, so she thought nothing of it, but three days passed and still the dog didn't move, so she became worried. She took the dog to her local veterinarian. The Vet laid the dog on an observation table and began examining the dog. Then the Vet left the room, returning a couple minutes later with a cage and a cat inside it. He set the cage next to the dog and let the cat out. The cat walked around the dog three times then went back into the cage. Putting the cage back the vet returned and said, "I'm sorry, but you're dog is dead. That'll be 250 dollars." Outraged, the lady shouted, "250 dollars! For what?" The Vet answered, "Well, 50 dollars for the examination, and 200 dollars for the cat scan."

Heart Bypass Affects Brain - A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine reports that many patients who undergo cardiac bypass surgery appear to lose a significant amount of mental power. Five years after the operations, 40 percent of the patients had lost 20 percent of their mental agility. This research looked at 261 patients who were on heart-lung machines during the surgery. Many did poorly on mental tests immediately after the surgery, improved over the following six months, and then declined after that. No cause has been pinpointed; in fact, researchers are not even sure the outcomes were directly caused by the surgical procedures.
Brain Usage Of Energy - Did you know the brain uses 20% of the body's energy generating 25 watts of power during waking hours but accounts for only 2% of body weight? Messages within the brain travel at speeds of up to 250 mph.
Placebo, Asthma, & Chiropractic - A man brings his asthmatic child to the chiropractor. The child's breathing improves and the number and severity of attacks begins to diminish almost immediately. He goes to his MD and asks, "Why didn't you tell me chiropractic could help my child's asthma?" "It's just a placebo," his MD responded. "Why didn't you tell me chiropractic was such a good placebo for asthma?" asked the father said. (Note: Placebo is just another word to some who do not believe our ability to tap the natural healing ability of our inner self.)
Let Kids Get Sick? One of the best ways to ensure your children's health is to allow them to get sick. At first hearing, this concept may sound outrageous. Yet standard childhood illnesses, such as measles, mumps, and even whooping cough, may be of key benefit to a child's developing immune system and it may be inadvisable to suppress these illnesses with immunizations. Evidence is also accumulating that routine childhood vaccinations may directly contribute to the emergence of chronic problems such as eczema, ear infections, asthma, and bowel inflammations" as stated by Philip Incao, MD. If they do become “sick” ot helps to bring them in to ensure a healthy balanced nervous system. A strong immune system allows them to quickly heal and stay recovered along with developing antibodies for the illness.)
